Special Reflection - Ignatian Ignition: Life after Failure

        Ignatian Ignition: Life after Failure
(On the feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola - July 31)

Happy Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

Today's feast reminds us a very important thing in life which is a lesson for Life after failure

Ignatius was a brave soldier, handsome and hardworker, talented yet tamed and so on.

He though a perfect man who went behind all worldly pleasure God saw the imperfect Saint hidden in him.

God never wanted a wordly Ignatius fit as fiddle rather an Ignatius broken string to play a Jesuit tune in future.

So what could we learn from St. Ignatius of Loyola is this

If you are so weak... You are blessed
If you are rejected... You are blessed
If you are not being loved... You are blessed
If you are less talented... You are blessed
If you are humiliated and mocked... You are blessed
If you live a sinful life... You are blessed
If you are being used and thrown... You are blessed
If your honesty is suspected... You are blessed
If you bear sufferings for Christ... You are blessed

For God came to this world for the above people... YOU & ME

Be happy when you are not accepted by anyone for God knows your value and he will place you on high.

Be happy when you are put under merciless dictative authority and experience agony.

When you are helpless

When you are alone

When you feel dejected

When you spirit faints

Do not worry for God Sees You

Just do a one word prayer of St. Ignatius of Loyola which gave enormous strength to him during his spiritual journey.

MAGIS (மாஜிஸ்)

which means Some More (இன்னும்)

He asked for more sufferings and pains to undergo a thorough inward experience with Jesus.

We need this Magis experience. We pray God to give more and more tasks, troubles but we also pray for his grace to live it better.

Gabriel Marcel, an existentialist philosopher would beautifully strengthen St. Ignatius' Magis experience.
Life is not a problem to be solved but a mystery to be lived.

Let us live this mystical life and taste God in this Magis experience.

Let's Pray:
MAGIS. AMEN

Reflection - 1 Life is So Mystical

Reflection - 1

"Life is so mystical"

One cannot easily understand & predict what will happen in the very next moment of our life. But life is not so cruel to abandon you in a state of loneliness.

For everyone life gives an opportunity to envision a goal. Life gives Someone or somebody to pass by or stay forever and tells us there is another way and there are more distance to travel along. Life also shows somebody to learn how not to be like them, such will take your life mercilessly.

Getting a good friend or an understanding partner in our life journey is a God given gift.

# Mother Mary's journey with Christ,
# Disciples' journey with & after Christ,
# St. Paul's journey with the Risen Lord, whom he had never been with but encountered and lived, Etc.

Let us remember Jesus says to us "No Love is greater than laying down his / her life for a friend (perhaps father, mother, son, daughter, sister, brother etc.)"

Let's Pray:
Lord the incarnation of Love, as you initiated the divinity of love for the first time in this world, allow us also to partake in the true sense of being loved and to love as you did.

(For your Reflection: Who is your friend (...)?)
