Reflection 37 - Hope Sustains in a Corner

Hope Sustains in a Corner

When life takes you to trials and tribulations, to the point of dying only hope Sustains it being in a corner of difficulties.
Only this hope is the best thing to cling on to in our life. If a person leaves behind everything and follows God, he / she makes a big sacrifice and follows Him. The amount of pain they undergo is countless as well as the joy they get in serving humanity is also countless.

This could happen even to a social activist, service minded people, those who help poor amidst crisis, etc. What big deal is to embrace a life of sacrifice is this: Life has a meaningful purpose.

In order to lead such life enormous patience and tolerance is needed. We may seem to lose our life in the journey of a sacrificial life but life falls into the sea of bliss by crossing a whirling storm.
We could see disciples were not properly oriented to their purpose until resurrection. Jesus had to cross the struggles of earthly life in order to explicitly depict the way to the life in heaven.

Hope arises in a hopeless situation. Confidence is different from hope. Hope plays its role in its absence but not confidence. Confidence seeks possibilities rather Hope seeks impossibilities wherein believes in God.

Psalmist would beautifully say,
Psalm 33: 18–19

"The eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine."

Let's Pray:

Lord increase my hope in all situations. Amen.
