FIRST FRIDAY OF ADVENT
JACOB
Jacob,
one of the patriarchs of Israel, represents God's continued faithfulness to His
covenant. Though Jacob was flawed—deceitful at times—God chose him as the
father of the twelve tribes of Israel. This shows that God works through
imperfect people to fulfil His perfect plan.
In
Jacob’s dream, he saw a ladder reaching from earth to heaven, with angels
ascending and descending on it. This vision symbolized the connection between
God and humanity, reminding us that God is always present and working in our
lives. The ladder also points forward to Jesus, who becomes the ultimate
"bridge" between heaven and earth, reconciling us to God.
Jacob’s
story invites us to trust in God’s promises even when the path is uncertain. It
reminds us that God’s grace can transform our weaknesses into opportunities for
His glory.
PRAYER:
Lord,
thank You for choosing and working through imperfect people like Jacob to
accomplish Your plan. Help us to trust in Your presence and promises, knowing
that You are always with us, guiding us toward You. Amen.
